How long does it take to install a roof in a house?

One of the most important parts of the house is the roofing system because it is the one that protects every homeowner from the different weather conditions and elements outside. All the things inside the house will get wet during the rainy season, and those electrical wirings will be at great risk if we don’t have a great and reliable roofing, that is why having an expert to do the roof installation is a great investment that you can make for your property. Because you have the assurance that it was properly done.

Every house comes in different architectural shapes and sizes, and so do its roofs. It should be perfectly installed to keep the rest of the house stable and healthy. And in roofing maintenance, it should be checked at least once a year. Aside from an annual check-up, a roof should be inspected after any major calamities like storms with high winds, lightning, tornadoes, large hail, or blizzards during winter because it can cause damage to any roofs.

How long does it take to replace a roof of a house? This is the most common question that many people have asked. For an average size home and not so damaged usually, it takes 1 to 3 days or even a week to install a new roof. But this answer doesn’t fit to every homeowner's common question, because there are several factors to consider.

Some of the factors that will determine the time spent in installing the roof are:

  • Roofing Materials and Design - Because of its different designs, it also requires a different method that sometimes takes more time than usual. Experts don’t just simply lay all those materials the same way the quickest possible. They need to follow the proper way in order to have a durable output. The average time of replacement of the most common shingles types are: Asphalt Shingles - 1-3 days, Wooden Shingles - 6-8 days, Concrete Tiles - 8-9 days, Slate Tiles - 6-7 days
  • Weather - It is not advisable to replace or install a roof when the weather is not in great condition like snow or rain because the materials won’t be properly installed and it is risky for our roofers to work on icy and slippery roofs.
  • House Size - The bigger the house is, the longer the roof contractors finish the job.
